PDI SCULPTURE

From the 14th to the 18th of March the 2 English teachers went to Dijon, France. We visited the Fine Arts Museum and discovered the amazing sculptor François Pompon from Dijon. He dedicated all his works to animals, his most impressive sculpture was a White Polar Bear made of stone.

We started the unit talking about the artist and his most famous works, then we told the story  " Pompon a Polar Bear in Dijon".

Children loved the story.

Happy twos-day!

Today we have celebrated a very special day! It's the 22 of the 2 of the 2022! And it's Tuesday, so we celebrated Twosday, the day of the two. In America, everyone is celebrating that everything is number 2 today.

In the English classes we have been working in pairs and they wrote things that come in twos like eyes, cherries, shoes, twins... Also, we have learnt that this date, 22022022, is a palindrome and an ambigram. How cool!

Have a look at the pictures we've taken to remember this special day!

ARTS AND CRAFTS NOVEMBER 2021

Rangolis and Beads

This month the Arts and Crafts teachers, Mar and Ana have been doing activities related to India, Priya's  country. Our language assistant has made a presentation about one of their most popular celebrations, Diwali. This Hindu festival is hold in October or November and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. Diwali lasts for 5 days. People decorate their houses with rangoli (elaborated designs made of rice, sand or petals) and light Diyas (small lamps filled with oil). We have made rangoli and Diyas.

We have also worked this month with a special material: beads. Children have made their own pins with the form of a corncob. India is the sixth largest producer of corn in the world.

Autumn leaves 2021

This fall in infantil we've learnt about how the leaves fall down from the trees with a little song that goes:

Autumn leaves are falling down
 falling down,  falling down,
Autumn leaves are falling down,
Yellow, red and brown

Each kid has painted a leaf with the autumny colours mentioned in our song.
We used them to decorate a big tree we made.

We have also learnt about Thanksgiving and its story, about the pilgrims who once travelled to America and were kindly helped by the native Americans to grow crops and survive. We reflected on what we are thankful for on the daily, the things we take for granted like our feet and the clothes we wear and then the kiddos came up with some great ideas and said thanks with a little drawing we hang up on our "thank you tree".

Check out the video to see the students singing the leaves song and some clips of our colourful tree.

BOOK’S DAY 2021

Today we have celebrated The International Book’s Day on English class. We’ve watched a storytale “Zoombies don’t eat veggies” and we’ve made some drawings and summarized the tale.
